Structural Rehabilitation

Many individuals see a chiropractor on a regular basis for general wellness.  Others, because they have been in a car accident.  Some, because they are simply experiencing some sort of pain, either for a while or recent.  As doctors, we want to aid these individuals in their wellness goals and get them out of pain as fast as possible.

The spine and joints of the body are key structures.  At Synergy Chiropractic of Houston, we want to make sure everything is functioning the way it should.  We use a variety of techniques to make sure these joints are working as desired.

Soft Tissue Manipulation

Surrounding every joint in the body, from the large shoulder and hip joints to the small ones that are associated with the spine, are soft tissues like muscles, tendons and ligaments.  We look for tight muscles and trigger points around problematic joints and use a VibraCussor to break up myofascial adhesions.  This helps relax the muscles and makes chiropractic adjustments more comfortable for the patient.

Chiropractic Adjustment

Almost every patient we have seen in the office has needed a chiropractic adjustment either in the spine at some level or in another joint on the body.  The chiropractors in our office have been trained to position the patient’s body in a way that is most comfortable for the patient.  This also allows the doctor to apply a finesse driven movement into the joint making a correction.  Many times, an audible pop is heard or felt.  This is normal and expected.

Instrument Assisted Mobilization

Some individuals are unable to be manually adjusted by hand. Some reasons include: spinal fusion from medical reasons, brittle bones,or tight muscles.  To help protect the patient and still get movement into the spine or other joint, we use an instrument called an ArthroStim to restore movement to the joints.

Roller Table

We like to finish a session by having the patient lay down on a rolling table for 15 minutes.  This table has rollers that move up and down the spine and muscles beside the spine. This functions as an aid to help stabilize the spinal column as well as relax the back muscles some more.  Many of our patients like to take power naps while on this table because it is so relaxing.
